Hiring a voiceover artist can sometimes feel overwhelming. Maybe it’s your first time booking one, maybe you’ve had a not-so-great experience before, or maybe you’re worried the process will be complicated.

The good news? Working with me is designed to be the opposite: simple, flexible, and stress-free. Whether you’re a global brand needing a polished TV campaign 🌍📺 or a small business making your first explainer video 🚀, I’ve built my process to take the pressure off you and deliver exactly what you need – fast.

Here’s how it all works, plus some insider tips to help you get the very best results 👇

Step 1: Get in Touch With Your Project ✉️

Reach out and tell me about your project. Don’t worry about all the technical jargon (that’s my job). What’s most helpful is:

  • 📜 Your script (or draft if it’s still being refined)

  • 🎯 The type of project (commercial, corporate, eLearning, animation, etc.)

  • 🎙️ The style or tone you’re looking for (conversational, corporate, upbeat, calm, etc.)

  • 🔗 Any references, links, or brand guidelines

  • ⏳ Your deadline

💡 Tip: Even if you’re unsure of the exact style, that’s okay! I can suggest options or record a couple of variations so you can compare.

Step 2: Free Custom Audition 🎧

Before you commit, you’ll want to know how your script will actually sound. That’s why I offer a free custom demo: I’ll record a short section of your script so you can hear it before the full session.

This means you can confidently say, “Yes, that’s exactly the tone we’re after,” or make tweaks before we dive in. Saves time ⏱️, avoids guesswork, and makes sure we’re on the same page from the start.

Step 3: Recording Your Project 🎤

Here’s where the magic happens ✨. I record everything from my broadcast-quality home studio in Brighton, which means:

  • 🎶 Clean, clear, professional audio – no background noise.

  • 🎙️ Industry-standard equipment (Neumann TLM 103 mic + treated booth).

  • ⚡ Fast turnaround: most projects delivered in 12–24 hours, often sooner.

You decide how involved you’d like to be:

  • 🛠️ Self-directed: I record independently, saving you time.

  • 👩‍💻 Live-directed: Want to guide in real time? We can connect via Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or Session Link.

Step 4: Delivery (Fast & Flexible) 📦

Once recorded, I’ll edit and deliver your audio in the format you prefer (WAV, MP3, etc.) via email, Dropbox, WeTransfer, Google Drive – whatever suits your workflow.

💡 Tip: If you already know where the audio will be used (TV, social, internal training, etc.), let me know upfront so I can match technical specs perfectly.

Step 5: Revisions & Adjustments 🔄

Scripts change. Emphasis shifts. That’s totally normal.

Minor pickups and adjustments are included, so you’ll always end up with a read you’re 100% happy with ✅.

Tips for Getting the Best Results 🌟

Working with a voiceover artist should be simple – and a little preparation makes it even smoother. Here are my top tips (and a few insider secrets):

1️⃣ Send the script in plenty of time

The earlier I see your script, the better. Think about timings, music, audience, and the final result 🎬🎶. Preparation saves time and ensures you get what you want faster. Win-win!

(That said, last-minute rewrites happen – I get it and can adapt quickly.)

2️⃣ Record the voiceover before editing visuals (if possible)

Letting the voice set the pace 🕒 is far smoother than cramming words into locked visuals. If possible, record VO first for the best flow.

💡 Guide tracks: If visuals come first, You may want to record a guide track in the right pacing (just using your phone). If not, AI can be handy here, but beware: many AI voices don’t breathe, pause naturally, or pace consistently.

3️⃣ Be clear on the feel you’re after

Voiceover is about how you want your audience to feel 💭.

👉 Best practice:

  • 📺 Share reference videos or links

  • 🎶 Send over music tracks that match the vibe

  • ⏱️ Provide timings if you have them

Music especially can set the tone instantly – one client sent me a track and I knew exactly what he was after the second I hit play.

4️⃣ Provide context – who, how, what

Context is everything. Tell me:

  • 👥 Who is the audience? (experts, customers, learners?)

  • ❤️ How do you want them to feel? (reassured, motivated, entertained?)

  • 🎯 What’s the goal? (take action, understand something, feel inspired?)

5️⃣ Prep the details

  • 🗣️ Unusual names or tricky pronunciations? Flag them upfront.

  • ⏳ Not sure if the script fits the slot? Time it aloud, and have shorter edits ready. Scripts almost always run longer once spoken.

Final Thoughts 💭

In a world full of noise, the right voice makes all the difference. It’s not just about reading words – it’s about giving them warmth, personality, and authenticity so your audience really listens.

That’s my job: to make your project sound incredible and the process effortless. Big brand or small start-up, I approach every project with the same focus – making your words stand out, sound authentic, and connect with the people who matter most.
